Chair-O-Planes otherwise known as swinging chairs first became popular on British Fairgrounds in the 1920s. Flying Chair-O-Planes were exported from Germany up to and during the Second World War.
The traditional Ferris Wheel was built by American manufacturers Eli Bridge, and imported into Britain in 1944. And Traditional Ferris Wheel hire is now available in the UK from Old Tyme Funfairs.
Here at Old Tyme funfairs we have over 30 years of experience when it comes to supplying amusements and traditional fairground rides for a range of events such as country shows, outdoor events, corporate occasions and private functions throughout the entire UK and Europe.
The Concept
When attending a commercial operation event we usually operate as a complete Victorian vintage funfair that includes game stalls and sideshows, the size of which can be tailored to suit the site available and your event requirements, we also may have individual units available to supply on certain occasions. We are more than happy to travel anywhere in the UK with our vintage funfair complete with traditional fairground rides and stalls. We can create custom quotes no matter the size of the event that you are organising.
The Atmosphere
We also find that playing traditional fairground organ music helps to create a nice and traditional atmosphere to provide a realistic experience for the whole family, although if siting dictates we can operate silently, or we can also theme the music to suit your event. With our traditional fairground rides and side stalls you are definitely going to be getting the full vintage funfair experience which proves to be a fantastic theme for any event you have planned.
The Staff
All of the Staff at Old Tyme Funfairs are uniformed and fully trained to give you complete piece of mind that your vintage funfair will run as smoothly as possible.
All of our units are A.D.I.P.S. registered, carry full paperwork as required by H.S.E. and full public liability insurance for your peace of mind and safety.
Helter Skelter
The traditional helter skelter was built, along with four others in the early 1900s by Griffiths and Morgan of Shepherds Bush, London.
